ChatGPT Ads Introduce Bid Multipliers for Audience-Based Bidding

TLDR

OpenAI has launched bid multipliers for ChatGPT ads, allowing advertisers to adjust bids based on custom audiences, though a 25,000-person minimum threshold currently limits adoption.

Jon Loomer reports that bid multipliers are now available for ChatGPT ads in beta, enabling advertisers to raise or lower bids when viewers belong to selected custom audiences. The feature works similarly to Meta's value rules and lets advertisers bid differently for existing customers, qualified leads, or any custom audience segment. However, custom audiences require a minimum of 25,000 people—a threshold Loomer expects will eventually lower, as it has already declined from 100,000 during the early testing phase.
