TLDR

OpenAI has shipped automated bidding, platform-specific placement controls, and URL parameter templating to ChatGPT ads, bringing the still-basic self-serve platform closer to Meta's maturity.

Jon Loomer reports that OpenAI has added three new features to its ChatGPT ads self-serve platform: a "Maximize Results" automated bid strategy for clicks and conversions, an "Eligible Platforms" dropdown to target specific device types (iOS app, Android app, or web), and support for landing-page URL parameters at the campaign, ad set, and ad levels. The automated bidding feature addresses a previous limitation requiring manual bid management, though Loomer notes it may increase spend relative to manual caps. Placement segmentation is available but of unclear utility at present, as ads aren't differentiated by platform and results lack platform-level breakdowns.
